S1E3 - Getting the perfect take? Self Promotion Woes? True Temperament
Lefty guitarists rule
Episode
Welcome to episode 3 of WoodAirMetal guitar podcast. Who knew we'd make it this far? But we are having fun with it. It's more or less we have to tell each other to stop the episode more than anything, ha.
Today we get into all kinds of stuff, a bit about the guitars we have, both being lefty guitarists (With a shout-out to Southpaw Guitars in Houston, TX), even a bit about True Temperament tuning, which I think we'd both love to try (though it's tough being lefty on that front).
We get into what we're working on, Adam shares a bit about his cool new arranging project, and Tim discusses his ongoing 9 year recording project for his band Red Side Visible, which just isn't getting done, but included replacing all the guitar tracking, violas, gongs, more and more. But basically got to the point that he has taken over 100 takes on a solo for the one song because he thinks he can do better. I'm sure we can all relate.
We shift into the self promotion topic for a bit, and just the new landscape of guitar promotion. We will need to spend a lot more time on this topic. What are your thoughts on the new paradigm? And especially things like Instagram and 60 second clips?
Adam's still listening to a lot of Thraikill and Tim is in Keith Jarrett land.
