S1E12 - Has American Idol ruined musical dreams? Does your music give away your personality?
And we go off on some classical composer stuff at the end, guitarist style?
Episode Notes
A recent Dave Grohl quote has been making the rounds on social media about things like American Idol telling people they aren't "good enough" to be a musician. He relates his experience that Nirvana started as a bunch of kids with crappy instruments who didn't know how to play, but one day after just going for it... became the biggest band in the world. Could you imagine someone telling you that you suck national TV?
It's a weird thing. However, people seem to often believe that some are just born with magical musical abilities... they don't see all the work that goes into it.
We also discuss does your personality dictate what kind of music you like? Here is the survey we discussed: https://www.16personalities.com/articles/music-preferences-by-personality-type
