Wrist Movement for picking on the guitar: Short Episode
Things we wish we knew about guitar when we started
Episode Notes
We are out a "normal" new episodes this week, so I thought I'd do a quick video lesson that we can discuss more in the future.
This is the first of the "Things I wish I knew about guitar when I first started" series we are starting. Adam and Tim will drop these from time to time, so be sure to check in for quick tips. In this video Tim Mirth talks about the wrist motion of the picking hand, and how it might not quite be what you think it is.
In Tim's words, he didn't figure this out till likely 15 years of playing or so, after much experimenting and the help of the 1000th time reading Tuck Andress's article on picking. Where Tuck expresses why George Benson had come up with the most economical and effective picking motion. Tim has altered this slightly, but in this video he shows you what it is, and what is "important" about the motion. There is plenty more to explore, but I think you might get something out of this one.
We'll see you next week! Thanks for tuning in! Be sure to subscribe, hit the bell, like, and comment, it helps motivate more of these. We have plenty more in this series and episodes coming in the future. If you prefer hearing more than seeing these videos, find us at your favorite podcast host and subscribe for multiple episodes. Cheers.
