Thanks for joining us again on the Wood Air Metal (WoodAirMetal) guitar podcast. Adam and Tim had a few topics to discuss about teaching that lead into the topic of Advanced musicianship and even comparing some unlikely characters together. How do you determine if a musician is "advanced" anyways? Is Jeff Beck advanced if he doesn't know weird exotic scales and 12 tone harmony (do we know he doesn't know these things?) or is Steve Vai technically better than Hendrix? We didn't even get into the fact that speed is just one technique... either way, we disagreed on this one How about teaching too? What are good methods to teach? Adam shares his favorite methods for beginner students and an approach that works both in his college classes and private studio.
